Speaking of the Watchmen movie, a DVD of The Black Freighter, the in-story pirate comic that mirrors Moore’s main narrative, will be released in time with the film. Hopefully this shows that some artistic rigor is being put into this project, as The Freighter is key to understanding the deepest symbolic levels in the original Watchmen. Either that, or it’s a clever cash-in.
